In the endless expanses of Norrbotten, the northernmost part of Sweden, a natural spectacle of rare grace is revealed on this clear winter's night: the Northern Lights dance in wave-like veils across the snow-covered landscape, as if the sky itself were holding its breath. At this moment, far away from civilisation, there is an almost palpable silence - broken only by the soft crunching of snow underfoot and the distant murmur of the Northern Lights, which you feel rather than hear.
The Aurora Borealis, which is created by solar winds in the upper layers of the atmosphere, unfolds here in intense shades of green. It casts its mysterious glow on the wintry surroundings, delicately illuminating the treetops and occasionally reflecting on frozen surfaces.
