A colourful French street. While strolling through villages in France, you wander through streets that exude a real French atmosphere. The way the houses are built, the narrow winding roads, the hodgepodge of colours.
This photo was taken in Lapalisse. After visiting La Palisse castle [Château de La Palice], we went in search of a little restaurant to have lunch down in the village. This little street appealed to me personally. The colours and the crooked houses.
The village of Lapalisse has a long history, dating back to the Middle Ages. Lapalisse was an old fortified town. The beautiful Château de La Palice stands clearly visible above the town.
Down below, by the river Besbre, there is a park where there is a lot of recreation on nice days.
Despite being a tourist village, Lapalisse is not really overrun by tourists. The village and certainly the castle are well worth a visit.
