This year's China Lights Festival in Utrecht featured a spectacular Chinese dragon that lit up the evening with an explosion of colours. Experience the magic of the illuminated sculptures lining the canals and old city walls - but the dragon really stole the show. Its vast body, richly decorated with red, gold and green, wriggled gracefully through the space while hundreds of lights twinkled gently like thousands of fireflies. For me as a photographer, it was a celebration of light, contrast and atmospheric detail: the reflections in the water, the games with shadow and brightness, and the energy of the festival audience. This photo is a visual ode to Eastern tradition, creative design and the way light can transform a city. A moment when Utrecht dives into an enchanting other world for a moment.
