The history of the Campveerse Toren begins with its construction in the 15th century. The building is part of the fortifications around Veere. An additional fortification on the seaward side of a 14th-century enclosure, these works were completed around 1500. As one of its towers, this monument has stood the test of time. But certainly not only as a defensive work.
One function of the tower that runs like a thread through history is that of an inn. From the 16th century, you can eat and stay there. First the building was called town inn, then lodging and coffee house and later restaurant.
