The InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam Hotel, frequently known as the Amstel Hotel, is a hotel in Amsterdam, The Netherlands' capital city. The Amstel hotel is located on the east bank of the river Amstel.

In 2007, it was the only hotel in the Netherlands on the list of World's Finest Hotels and was ranked in the 90th location.

The Amstel Hotel belongs to the InterContinental Hotels chain. In 2006 the structure was offered to Morgan Stanley. In 2011 the Lebanese business owner Toufic Aboukhater purchased the hotel. In 2014 the hotel was obtained by Qatar-based Katara Hospitality. However, it is still run by the InterContinental Hotels.

Samuel Sarphati, a physician and city organizer, took the effort to develop the hotel, although he passed away in June 1866 before the hotel opened. The architectural engineer was Cornelis Outshoorn. Initially, it was prepared to develop the front of the hotel dealing with Sarphatistraat. Because of financial troubles, just the wing along the Amstel was developed.

Restoration
In late September 1992, the Amstel Hotel was resumed after a two-year restoration. Throughout the closure, artisans, craftsmen, and engineers renovated the whole hotel, at the expense of over 70 million guilders. The previous 111 spaces were altered in 55 high-end spaces and 24 suites.
