The Blue acara 'Electric Blue' usually chooses a stone to deposit its eggs, this stone is cleaned well before deposition. The nest consists of about 200 eggs that hatch after 2 to 5 days. During the breeding period, it is best to remove any co-inhabitants as both parents will be very aggressive.
When the young start swimming, they can be fed with artemia nauplii and fine dry food.
