The Battle of Turnhout, also known as the Battle of Tielenheide, was a battle near Turnhout on 24 January 1597 between a State army under Maurice of Nassau, later Prince of Orange, and a Royal Spanish army under the Count of Varax. The siege was part of Maurice's campaign of 1597, Maurice's successful offensive against the Spanish.
