A woman stands by exuberant flowers with two youthful figures beside them. Traditionally, the painter places the bouquet on a large stone vase. Gaspar Peeter Verbruggen or Gasparo Pedro Verbruggen (baptised on 11 April 1664 in Antwerp - buried on 14 March 1730 in Antwerp) was a Flemish still-life painter best known for his decorative still lifes with flowers and fruit. He collaborated with figure artists on compositions that combined figures with a still-life element. He was active in Antwerp and The Hague. Gaspar Peeter de Jonge became master of the Guild of St Luke in Antwerp in the Guild Year 1677-1678 at the age of 13. He decided to leave Flanders and go to the Republic in 1705. He settled in The Hague.
