Albert Weisgerber (St. Ingbert, April 21, 1878 - killed at Fromelles, near Lille, May 10, 1915) was a German painter and graphic artist. He worked primarily in Impressionism, later with obvious elements of Expressionism.
After apprenticing for a time in Frankfurt am Main as a decorative painter, he attended the arts and crafts school in Munich between 1894 and 1897. He was also influenced by Fauvism. 1913, together with Alexej von Jawlensky, Paul Klee and Alexander Kanoldt, among others, he founded the artists' association Münchner Neue Secession, of which he became the first president.
