About the artwork

Aerial photo of Texel The source of this imagery is from the 2017 Land Registry aerial photo dataset. It is a collage of Aerial photos that have been stitiched and post-processed in photoshop. As a result, it has a very higher resolution and individual buildings are visible. Texel is an island in the Wadden Sea and is the largest of the Dutch Wadden Islands. It can be reached by ferry from the port in Den Helder. The island is about 31 km long and 5 km wide and has an area of about 169 km². The island is a popular holiday destination for Dutch and foreigners, with plenty of nature, beautiful beaches and various activities such as hiking, cycling and bird-watching. Texel is also known for its sheep farms and cheese production. There are several villages on the island, including Den Burg, the administrative centre of Texel, and Oudeschild, home port of the fishing fleet. There are many recreational opportunities on the island, such as the National Park the Dunes of Texel, the Ecomare seal sanctuary and the Texelsche Golfclub. There are also many campsites, holiday parks and hotels on the island. Such as at de Koog and Cocksdorp.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
